About Course
Become an American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor and empower others to save lives. This course is designed for healthcare professionals who want to teach high-quality CPR and AED use to others. Participants will gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to effectively instruct and evaluate students in BLS Provider courses according to the latest AHA guidelines.
The course includes:

Instructor Essentials Training: Covers AHA policies, administrative procedures, and effective teaching techniques.

Hands-On Learning: Practice leading BLS scenarios and skills sessions using real equipment and manikins.

Evaluation and Monitoring: Each candidate is required to successfully demonstrate teaching competence during an actual class under the supervision of an AHA Training Center Faculty member.
Prerequisites:

Current AHA BLS Provider certification

Alignment with an authorized AHA Training Center

Completion of the AHA BLS Instructor Essentials online course (prior to attending the in-person session)
Upon successful completion, participants will receive an AHA BLS Instructor card, valid for two years, allowing them to teach BLS Provider and Heartsaver-level courses.
